Sharing some of my favorite spring trends with my own personal twist....

Good Morning and happy Tuesday! I hope your week is off to a great start. I am really excited about this series I am doing, "Basic is Best" and I hope you are as well. It is my desire to be able to share some helpful tips wth you, in hopes to making your shopping experience a little easier and more budget friendly. Did you know that you can click on any of the pictures and it will take you right to the link where you can purchase the outfit? Technology has made online shopping such a breeze!
I have a busy week so I am going to jump right into things and tell you why jumpsuits are the best! Whoever brought the trend back I am so thankful! I think jumpsuits can be such a trendy fun look and with the right material super comfortable. The number one key to finding the right jumpsuit is SHAPE, SHAPE, SHAPE! If the jumpsuit you are looking at does not have a cinched waist, belt, or tie around it.......put it down! Why they even make them that way is beyond me, but it will give you no shape and look unflattering. Again just like the maxi a flattering material to look for would be rayon. Rayon can be soft and allow a soft flow/fall to the material but I suggest going with a thicker material. Thin material in the right light sometimes is not a woman's best friend. :(
So how to find the right one for each body?
Petite: Look for a high neck collar as this can elongate your torso and create the illusion of added height. The edge of the pants should lay right above the ankle and should fit nice and snug. Pairing the jumpsuit with heels that have thin straps allows the outfit to flow, not directing the eye to any one specific spot.
Tall/Slender: Being thin and tall has its perks but also can easily lose shape in an outfit. I love the look of a sweetheart jumpsuit. This draws your eye to the sweetheart neckline added some dimension to the outfit. Always look for a fitted or cinched waist so the jumpsuit does not appear as just a simple onesies. Onsies are for kids for a reason, they lack shape! A traditional skinny leg typically always look best on a jumpsuit, but if you love a good retro look a wide leg jumpsuit is perfect for the office!
Curvy: I had someone tell me, "I don't look good in a jumpsuit. I just can't make it look right." WRONG! You can, you just need to find the right one. Make sure the waist is fitted. Next, if you are feeling insecure find a suit that distracts your eye and brings it to a specific spot. Off the shoulder, one sleeve, and lace typically draws your eye first. Lastly the pants portion needs to be fitted (not snug) and tapered at the bottom.
Shoes?? Think simple. The jumpsuit is already a fashion statement in itself, the shoes should compliment the look. I love the look of a thin strappy heel, that elongates the leg and gives the appearance of added height. If you prefer flats, I would try not to pair it with anything lace up, as this may cause too much distraction at the end of the pant preventing the flow from pant to shoe. Simple neutral colors.
I listed several suggestions below that hopefully will catch your eye. If you have any questions, or want a second opinion on another outfit shoot me an email at blynneford@yahoo.com or send me a DM on Insta, @savvygirlsstyle. I would love to help any way I can!

Brianna

Basic is Best: Maxi Style
Hey pretty lady! I hope you are having a wonderful Monday. This week is my birthday week and I will turn 29 on Friday. My last year in my twenties! It is crazy to think about since I feel forever 22. I am starting to understand when people say "age is just a number". I don't have any plans yet, I am hoping my hubby takes care of that part! :)
So this month, I am so excited to kick off the series "Basic is Best". I came up with the idea when I realized my entire closet was turning into a giant floral party and all the basic essentials were dwindling down. I love florals, they are super trending right now but sometimes they can be hard to match with other outfits. I felt like I was buying more accessories and pieces to make an outfit, rather than utilizing what I already had.
So each week I will be showcasing one must have item in every woman's closet, multiple ways to style it and how to shop for the perfect fit. This week I am featuring the Maxi.
Maxis are a must, hands down! First off they can be incredibly comfortable (if you have the right fabric) are easy to style and can be worn to every occasion. A Maxi can be worn through almost every season (not sure how they would look in winter boots though) and are flattering on every body type.
How to Find the Perfect Maxi
1.) Finding the right fabric: We all know some material is forgiving and some material makes us look like we just ate a whole pizza. 100% cotton is not going to be your best friend in this situation. Unless you are 5'7 and 100 pounds with no hips, a tight fitting 100% cotton dress is not going to be comfortable, may not be flattering, and could possibly show all the dimples that were once cute on your baby bottom but not so much anymore. (Ugh they are so annoying, am I right?!) Look for a material that is labeled Viscose or Rayon. This material has a soft silk like feel while still being a thicker material. It also has a little bit of stretch to it as well, allowing a more flattering shape. Also look for a small percentage of spandex in the material. This adds a little bit of stretch to the material allowing the dress to flow and not lay so stiff on ones body. This dress I have featured here from PinkBlush is 94% Viscose 6% Spandex. It is perfection! So amazingly comfy and thick material, but not to thick for the warm weather.
2.) Finding the perfect color: So you have a maxi that can be worn to every occasion: church, wedding, date night, girls night, shopping, etc. What color works best? I love bright pops of color, however a bright coral dress is not a color that can be worn multiple times over and over again without being noticeable. White is always a classic look but white is not an all year round color so I would not advise that. When picking an article of clothing you would want to wear multiple times a month even week, always go neutral. Neutrals never go out of style and are the best color choice for pairing and accessorizing outfits. Personally I prefer a taupe color like I have featured. Taupe is a trending color right now and can be paired with almost every other color and is also a flattering color for every skin type. If you prefer dark colors black is always a good choice as well, but black dresses in the summer get so hot. That is the only downside to going with a full length black dress.
3.) Finding the perfect fit: Ok so this may be the most important part. When looking for a perfect maxi, DO NOT buy a dress with no shape to it. That is the quickest way to make a dress look unflattering on a woman .I have seen so many cute dresses in the store, but once I try them on they lay awkwardly because the material just sits on my hips. Look for a dress that has some type of cinching below the bust but above the hips. Make sure the cinching does not sit at the hips, as this could possibly make the hips appear larger. The cinching should lay right at the middle of your ribs so that the remainder of the dress can flow outward. Since each individual has a different sized torso then the next it is important to find the perfect fit for your body, so look for cinching that lays about 2-3 inches above your belly button.
Styling your Maxi
3 simple ways to style:
// Pair it with a jean jacket ( as in above) for a casual look or give it an edgy look with a fitted leather jacket. It is important that the jacket is fitted since Maxi dresses have flow to them. Pairing the dress with a loose jacket can make the overall look appear unfinished and unpolished. //
// This is where color comes in, think color wheel! Find accessories that add some pop to the dress! You can add so many fun colors with a neutral dress (scarfs, hats, statement necklace). The possibilities are endless! //
// Knot the bottom! Interested in a different look? Knot the bottom of your dress to better showcase your shoes. This will add some diversity to the look and keep your dress from looking like the average maxi. //
I hope this gave you some new ideas and helpful hints for the next time you venture out to go shopping! If you have any questions feel free to email me or leave a comment. If you saw an item that caught your eye, I have linked all my items featured below. Also don't forget if you post on Insta or Facebook, tag @savvygirlsstyle so I can see how stunning you are! Happy May 1st!

Monday Inspiration
Happy Monday! I do not know about you but I woke up this morning and could not get out of bed. My eyes would not open and my body fought me every inch of the way. However, duty calls and my children were not feeding themselves. Anyone else have that kind of morning?
Well if you feel like Monday hit you hard and you need some inspiration for work attire or school or everyday I have you covered. Leave the fashion to me! This week I teamed up with Ruthie Grace Boutique and I LOVE, LOVE their clothes. They have so many cute options for every event in your life. Today I am sharing three of my favorite articles of clothing from their site.
This beautiful dress from Shein is so versatile and can also be worn as a top, like I have pictured above. I love the embroidered trend right now and these vibrant colors are so perfect for spring!
Lets talk Leggings! If you do not own a pair of moto leggings you are truly missing out! I love the texture to them and the unique style they have. This pair from RG has the appearance of a thicker material but in reality are so, so soft. They have a stretch waistband and a zipper at the bottom of the pants that can be worn zipped all the way down or left a little undone. I think a pair of converse sneakers with a white tee and chambray button down top would look super cute paired with these pants. I think I would leave it a little unzipped with that particular outfit. < Just throwing some ideas your way :) >
If you are looking for the perfect LBD for spring or summer I have found the one for you!. This dress has beautiful detailing adding class and sophistication. The material is slightly thinner so it perfect for warmer weather and wont leave you sweating, for all my southern friends. I am 5'3 and it fell right above my knees, making it the perfect and appropriate dress for church and the work office. The sleeves had a slight bell detail but not so much that I was getting them caught on everything. Does that happen to you? Bell sleeve wiplash syndrome. I love the trend but I am ALWAYS getting them caught on drawers, handles, you name it. Not with this dress. I believe that is called...#winning? :) This particluar dress is sold out in black, so you can either go on the waitlist or you can buy it in a blush color. The blush is gorgeous!!
So I saved the best for last! My current favorite top in my closet, the "mary". This shirt is everything trending right now. Florals, bell sleeves, detailed neckline, I just LOVE it! This shirt material is soft and flowy and is perfect for every body type. I have yet to find a shirt exactly like this one, which always makes me happy because I love having my own unique style. I received so many compliments on this top already and I know you will too! The mauve color is flattering on every hair and skin color as well. For reference I am wearing size small. I could ramble on but we all have important stuff to do this Monday so I will leave the links for you to visit the site below. If you happen to snag one of these beauties or another, tag me in your picture on insta! I would love to see how beautiful you look! Happy Monday!!

I have seen these shoes floating around Insta for a few weeks now ranging from $600-$60. I am ELATED to tell and show you how to snag these for $10. I paid $40, which is still not a bad price for how comfortable and easy they were to walk in. My house, let alone life is currently in a giant snow globe so I have only been able to wear them around the house, but I am DYING to wear them on a date night this spring.
So here is the low down...
These Shoes are from JustFab. JustFab is a website that caters to your personal style where you can pick out your favorite shoes monthly and have them sent to you. If you don't see anything you like you skip that month and wait for the next. Personally I skip about every other month, until I see something I truly love. Now I know what your probably thinking....ugh I don't want to sign up for some service that charges my card every month. I hear ya girl! The amazing part, is that stated right on the website it says you can CANCEL at any time!! That means once you buy these shoes, if you don't want to receive more you can cancel. No commitment. No Problem!!
If you sign up on their site they require you to choose 2 pairs of shoes for $39.95. If you use this link here -> http://www.justfab.com/invite/savvygirlsstyle/ you get to choose any shoe for $10!!!! Spring Dresses and White Tees
Happy Tuesday! If you live anywhere in the North east and along the East coast you are probably getting hit with a crazy snow storm. I am currently sitting in my office typing away while a winter wonderland is blowing through the town. It is actually kind of cozy, at least while we still have power. :)
Paperback Boutique is where my two outfits are from and can I just say how much I love, love this floral dress? The fit is perfect and lays just at the perfect length. It has a little choker detail on the dress, adding some more creative details and of course the floral trend is so hot right now. I just happen to be obsessed with florals (if you haven't noticed) so I am elated that they are currently trending. The dress also has a cinched waist which is always flattering on every body type. I will link the outfit details below, but you can also find the dress located here.
The white shirt was also complimentary from Paperback. The fit of this top is very flattering. It is fitted by the bust and slightly flares out at the bottom. The sleeves also have a little bit of a belle sleeve shape. Bell sleeves are another trend that is hot right now. I love that the top had a bit of a flow to the shape without losing the complimentary form. Sometimes I forget just how much I love white tops until I add accessories to them. A white top and jeans have endless possibilities to them. The white top is currently sold out, but there is a white sweater listed on the site with a little bit of a similar shape to it.

Vintage Inspired Spring Bags
Happy Thursday! So close to Friday who can smell it? We had such a busy week and weekend last week that I am so thankful this week has been a slow go. I plan on ridding my house of all things germs, since my little family has been sick for a while. I was hoping to open the windows again and let in some fresh air buttttt the weather man is calling for 25 degrees. No thanks, ill pass! :)
Todays vintage inspired bag is from a new to the scene company called Oliver Bilou. They have the cutest collection of vegan leather handbags that fit perfectly around the wrist for the everyday busy lady and mama. I love the look of this particular bag I have featured, called "Vivian". Even the name is old fashioned. It reminds me of the bags my grandmother would have, classy and sophisticated.
One thing I love about Oliver Bilou bags is they all have little inspirational quotes inside them. These always come in handy when I am digging at the bottom of my purse for what I lost and a sweet little reminder pops ups. Life is always so crazy and busy and as a wife, mom, and friend I need little reminders like these to help me throughout my day.
Another feature I love about the purse is that it has an inner key hook so you can access your keys easier. No more digging at the bottom of your purse! Can we just stop for a moment and commend the genius who came up with that one!? :)
The size of this particular bag is perfect for everything I need and is very light weight. It open from side to side making it very accessible to getting things in and out of the bag.
Oliver Bilou bags also offer FREE SHIPPING and arrive within 5-6 business days. My bags always come super quick and I am never left waiting and checking my email to see when It will arrive.
If you are loving this bag or any other one from this collection, head over to my Insta page because I am giving away one FREE bag of you choice from Oliver Bilou! @savvygirlsstyle

Tuesday Shoesday
It's Tuesday which means I am sharing all things shoes! I have been struggling staying healthy this week so todays post will be short and sweet if that is okay with you, so I can get back to resting. This virus/bug sure is kicking my butt, any tips on how to shake it off? Vitamin C is not working as fast as I would like it...
Both of these pairs of boots are from the brand Corkys. I have seen the brand several times in retail stores and was so excited to be able to have a pair of my own to try. Let me just say these boots are hands down some of the most comfortable shoes I own. The inserts inside the shoe are super soft and made them comfortable to wear even without socks. The wedge boots were perfect in the snow and never left my feet feeling cold, something that can be hard to accomplish on a shoes without being a snow or rain boot. I wore the booties to a conference recently at my church that lasted all day and I had no issues at all.
Now that the warm air is slowly starting to come through I can't wait to wear these booties with maxis and sun dresses. I even wore them without socks and they didn't make my feet sweat like crazy. If you haven't heard of Corkys before, jump over to their site and browse around. Find something you love? Use Coupon Code: BRIANNA30 for 30% off all purchases. How about that for a great deal?! The Perfect Spring Shoe
Happy Monday! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and was able to find some time to relax. I spent the weekend in bed unfortunately, fighting off what looks like the flu or a similar virus. My poor babes have been sick most of the week and it looks like I came down with it as well. Good thing is we are all on the mend and ready to take this week head strong!
Todays blog I am sharing one of my new favorite pair of shoes, one that will easily become a staple in my closet this summer and spring. I saw this pair of shoes last year and fell in love and knew I needed to have them in my wardrobe once this winter weather came to an end. You may have seen this style around on different sites, however I can attest to how amazingly comfortable this pair is from Restricted Shoes.
This pair called Weekday from Restricted Shoes is available in 3 different colors. The nude pictured above, black and a whiskey or cognac color. Personally I loved the nude, I felt like it easily went with most outifts. There is a zipper detail in the back making the shoes easier to take on and off rather than having to tie/untie every time.
The shoes are incredibly comfortable to walk in. I had them on all day earlier this week running errands and meeting friends for dinner and never once thought about my feet. Since the heel is a thicker block heel, I felt that it allowed the shoes to maintain their comfort level for a longer period of time. I was very impressed with the quality of the shoes as well. They are faux leather however the material was thick and sturdy and has a very similar look and feel to leather. Some faux leather shoes I have found to be very cheap appearing and that is NOT the case at all for these heels.
If you have been crushing on these shoes as long as I have, I have a special discount for you to use that will take 25% off these or any pair of heels from the Restricted website.
Use Code: BLYNNE25
I love how versatile these heels are and can be worn with so many different looks. I think I need to pair them with a maxi next, if only this weather would cooperate and warm up a little. :)

Brianna

Blogging 101
Happy Friday! The sun is shining here in the Roc and the hubs and I have a marriage conference to attend this weekend at church. Hopefully we will come back refreshed and never fight again.....haha, probably not because we are both strong willed but at least we will make some time to invest and encourage each other.
I am so excited that you are interested in starting your own blog. Blogging has been such a fun and exciting journey for me! Let me be clear, it is a LOT of work! However if you can take your passion and turn it into a blog, I say go for it!
I started fashion blogging almost one year ago in April. I originally starting blogging to showcase my personal style and see where it lead me. Little did I know almost one year later I would have established my own name and started a business. There is a lot of good information I want to share with you, so this this will be a 2 part series. Next Friday I will share some more helpful resources for you. So lets dive in and get right to the point!
Part 1: Starting a Blog
Know your WHY...
In any (business) adventure it is always a great idea to sit down with a Pen and paper and establish your reasons for why you want to start this new adventure. Having a clear vision of where you are now and where you would like to be in 6 months helps you establish goals. If you want your blog to be successful you need to have a goal. Even if it is a small goal, having at least one goal makes you strive and push yourself a little harder than normal. Once you have let some ideas flow organize them and envision how you want your blog to look.
Create a Blog First
Many people take the steps backwards and will create an Instagram and Facebook account before the blog. As your following grows on these platform naturally so will your blog. However if you do not have a blog, you are unfortunately stunting your growth on the blog. Think of it like a tree. Your blog should be the focal point (the base of the tree) and your social platforms such as Pinterest, Facebook, twitter, etc are the branches. The goal is to have the social platforms direct back to the tree (your blog). There you can expand and discuss further what you have shared on your social platforms. Also your audience can get to know you on a personal level a little deeper with your blog. Always remember that people are looking for other "people". Not just a computer screen with attractive features. It is ok to be raw, in fact I find more people enjoy that and can relate. I mean c'mon we are all doing life together, right?! If you are knowledgeable in the computer realm Wordpress.org is a great site to start and you can purchase themes to personalize your site. Squarespace is also a very easy and convenient site to use and a great place for beginners. If you have the funds to hire out, I would recommend doing that. A clean polished blog is going to attract the eye and bring your followers back. Also you will have someone with knowledge and resources about coding and SEO and all that good stuff that is needed for growing your blog.
Invest in a Good Camera
When you scroll through Instagram and come across a feed that you love and decide to follow it, most likely the reason is because the pictures were appealing to the eye and caught your attention. Social media and blogs are all about visualization. If our eyes like it, we want to see more. Nothing ruins a picture quicker than poor lighting and a grainy photo. Have you ever gone to a successful bloggers site and seen grainy photos? No. People will look at a picture first before they even read words. If you lost their attention on the picture, 9/10 times they won't even bother to read the caption. The iPhone 8 Plus or X has a great camera from what I have seen and that is great to use from time to time however if you are taking blogging seriously, a professional quality camera is necessary. Before you roll your eyes, and think you don't have the funds, I bought my camera brand new on eBay. Ebay and Amazon periodically have great deals, just keep you eyes open. My camera had a great sale and I bought it for about $400. You will also need to invest in a lens to accompany the camera, but for now just keep your eyes pealed for some good deals. Not sure what camera to get? Ask a photographer or do some research online.
Get Social
Success does not happen over night. Shocked? Don't be, unless you go viral on youtube you will have to work for what you want. I am on social media a lot. Too much if you ask my hubby, but I am on working. Once you create a blog and put up wonderful pictures, now is NOT the time to sit back and wait to see what happens, Now is the time to engage or get SOCIAL! Comment on pictures, like photos, leave comments on others blogs, ask a few blogger friends if they would like to participate in a giveaway together to spread awareness to you your name (blog). YOU HAVE TO MARKET YOURSELF. No one will do it for you. The world does not know you exist, you need to let them know. There is something unique you (we) all have to offer offer and I will not know about it, unless you spread the word. But please please don't comment on other feeds and say, "hey follow me if you want to see this..." that can come across as tacky. We want to be classy, people will appreciate you much more. Most importantly be genuine. People can see right through FAKE. If you are looking to invest in others so that they will follow your blog long term, be sincere with what you write and how you act. It will go a long way.
Content is King
Have you ever heard this saying before? If there is anything you can remember when posting on Instagram, remember these 3 important words. When trying to grow your follower base, include content that can be relatable, desirable and enjoyable. Some of my favorite fashion bloggers post only once a day, sometimes every other day but the content is always fantastic. Don't ever feel pressured like you have to post every day on Instagram to stay relevant. If you have strong content your followers will stick with you and you will gain new followers along the way. What makes for good content? Look around on Instagram and Pinterest. See whats trending, see what people like and put your own personal twist on it.
Next Friday I will dive a littler deep with Part 2 and share some ways on how to be compensated for your blog posts (small or large following). Also some tips on fighting the algorithm slump and the important of hashtags and which ones to use.
PART 2: Starting a Blog
Know your Worth
So you have your blog, with a nice camera and you start to slowly see people start following you on social channels. You may even have a company reach out to you, and offer you a free shirt or a free headband for your child in exchange for a photo. Your going to hate me for this......DONT TAKE EVERYTHING FOR FREE........
Are you still with me? Let me explain why. Nothing in life is free, we all know that. As a blogger you are starting to establish your name and your brand and you want that to have value. By taking something for free, you are removing the value that you have to offer. I recently read an article from a company owner stating that companies are now catching on to bloggers and realizing they can forfeit paying for advertisement because bloggers will do it free of charge. Yes, you read that right companies that normally would pay to have that dress advertised is giving it to you and still pocketing money. So now you go out and take a picture in it, edit those photos, create a blog post, and then post on your social channels. So what collectively took about 2-3 hours you just did for the cost of the dress, maybe $40? Is your 3 hour’s worth $40? As a mom and wife every time I am working I am taking time away from my family, and If I can't be with my most loved ones I better be content with what I am being paid. To be paid $40 (in clothes) and be away from my family that long is not worth it for me.
Now I understand not everyone will agree with that concept and that is fine. When I first started blogging I took everything for free, and I loved it. However looking back now I see ALL the time I spent writing and taking pictures and spent so many hours just for a free shirt here and there. Time is valuable, don't let the idea of something free cloud your judgment. Especially if a company knows they can use a new blogger and get away with not paying the marketing cost. If you are serious about being in the blogger world, you need to treat it just like a regular job. If you work, you get paid. You would never tell your boss they don't have to pay you today but you will still put in a full work day.
So how does one with a small following make any money? Surprisingly companies love working with new bloggers. New bloggers are like fresh babes, untainted by the world. Their excitement and passion is evident and your blog is not filled with all kind of advertisements from other companies. If a company contacts you, DO NOT be afraid to ask to be compensated. Even if it is for $20. Time is money, always remember that! Also ask yourself does this fit me? Does it match the aesthetic of my blog? Does it truly represent me as a person? The moment you put your name out there, you are establishing your own brand. Saying no to a few companies in the beginning may be hard, but will be worth it once your followers realize what your specific brand is.
Also do not hesitate to reach out to companies. Remember when I talked about marketing yourself? Let the business world know you exist. Email companies and tell them what you have to offer. Even if you have 500 followers, that’s 500 new potential clients that company could obtain. Be confident in who you are! So how DO YOU make money blogging? This is something you will need to research deeper for yourself however Rewards Style and different Influencer Apps are a great starting point.
That Pesky Algorithm
Right when you feel like you succeeded in mastering the algorithm it changes on you. I know, we all want it to go back to the way it was. Isn’t that life, going back to the good ole days? Well since that doesn’t seem like it will happen lets focus on what we can do. Instagram no longer shows posts when people send them. Now it goes in order of your interest or posts that have higher amount of likes. So when you post, many times your followers may not see what you put up, that’s why posting several times a day is a great way to bring traffic to your feed and blog.
Going back to part one of “blogging 101”, Content is going to be your key component. You need to give your followers something to make them want to come back to your site. I for one will admit I am working and will probably always be working on creating better content for my blog, Think about the first time you go to a new restaurant or store. Why do you go back? A few reasons…
1,) visually appealing
2.) Your preferred taste/style
3.) Price is right
4.) Something you can share/talk about with friends
5.) Atmosphere
When creating content, focus on what your audience would want to see. Get their feedback, ask questions. Find your blog posts or Facebook posts that generated the most likes and comments and consider what people were so interested or curious in. Continue to push yourself.
Hashtags
Oh my friends, this is the good stuff. Hashtags are a make or break situation. The second month I started blogging; TJ Maxx messaged me and asked if they could share my content. I was over the moon! TJ Maxx is one of my favorite stores and the fact they asked a small blogger with about 1000 followers was so encouraging at the time. I remember logging into my Instagram account one day and seeing hundreds of new followers because of that specific repost. How did I manage to score something so amazing? Hashtags.
Each picture is allotted 30 hashtags. When I see people only using 10 or 20, it makes me go a little crazy because they do not realize the potential they are missing out on. Remember when I discussed marketing yourself? This is a great way and may be the only way for others to find you.
Which hashtags should you choose? There are so many out there but don’t get caught up reading 15 different google searches on what to use. Can I give you a secret? Find a blogger that you have noticed growing quickly and see what hashtags they are using. Try using some of those for a few days then switch yours up a bit. I don’t like to keep mine the same for more than a few posts. When you do go to post, if a major event is happening or show is being aired try using that as a hashtag. Anything that is currently trending is a great starting point.
I hope this inormation was helpful! If you have any questions or would like more advice please feel free to reach out. Have a great weekend!
XOXO,
Brianna
The Must Have Bag for Spring
Happy Thursday! I hope you were able to make it through your week without too many difficulties. Tomorrow is Friday and who doesnt love a good fri-yay?! As every weekend goes by it means we are one week closer to spring, which for us Northern folks that means sun and heat. I am soooo ready for some warm weather.
This spring I really am loving the styles that are trending. One big trend that you will see throughout stores and online is neutrals. Neutrals are always a great choice. They are classy, clean looking, and easy to accessorize.
I have been on the prowl for the perfect sized taupe bag and I FINALLY found it. This leather bag is from Cocovann and I absolutely love it! I have been looking for several weeks for the perfect bag and this leather satchel is everyting I was looking for. As soon as I opened the package i instantly fell in love with the purse. It really is such a beautiful bag!
DETAILS...
The size of the bag was large enough that I could fit my belongings in but not so large that it became a burden to carry for long periods of time. The shape of the bag held, which was important for me. I am on the go all the time and with children my bags get tossed around. The shape of the bag has stayed the same since it has arrived in the mail. There are several pockets along the side of the purse; perfect for you phone, lip glosses, gum and everything else we like to cram in. :) I have received so many compliments on this bag and I would 100% put my stamp of approval on this hot spring item.
Cocovann has been gracious ebough to offer my followers a 40% dsicount on all the "AW16" bags (including this one). Normally this bag retails for $269, but by using code BRIANNAXCOCO40, you can get the bag for $162. For an all leather bag, this is worth every penny. The code is good until March 16, so if you need sometime to sleep it over, take a few days and then browse through the pictures again.
If you do purchase a bag, tag me in your photos so I can see how stunning you look! Have a great almost weekend!

Gray Wrap Crossover Sweater
Happy Monday! This week is Valentines week, who is ready and who still needs a few more days? I definately fall in the need more time category. I still have yet to get anything for the hubby. Lets see what I can come up with in the next 12 hours! Any idea are very much welcomed.
One thing I do know is that this sweater is for sure one of my favorites this winter. I love how versatile it can be! I think my preferred style is having the wrap located in the back, personally for me I think it is too low cut in the front, plus it adds so much more detail. The material on the sweater is very comfortable and soft and easily conforms to the body. I like wearing clothes that conform to me, rather than finding myself adjusting them all day. Am I right or am i right?! :) This eact sweater sold out (I know, Im sorry) but I found a sweater that is very similar in looks and material. Shop the look below!

Brianna

Valentines Day Ruffles
Happy Thursday! One more day until Friyay! Is anyone celebrating Valentines Day early, over the weekend? My hubby is convinced it will not be that busy, but I think it will be. One thing neither one of us like is when the restaurants jack up their prices and change the menu so you can only pick a small selection of items. Why do they have to take advantage of us hard working people!? So needless to say we usually avoid going out the day of.
If you are noticing a common theme on Instagram, ruffles are taking the fashion world by storm. Some people love it, some hate it but I think done the proper way it can add such great detail to any article of clothes. My sister text me last night and told me she would never wear this outfit. Hahah, oh thats what sisters are for!
This sweater from Shein Official is my new favorite top. It has a soft material and the bell sleeves keep their shape. Have you ever bought an article of clothing and the shape falls apart and looks nothing like when you bought it in the store? Ugh hate when that happens. This top is true to fit, however it did fall right at my waist. If you have a longer torso I would suggest going up a size. The fabric is very soft and does not leave an itch feeling. You can shop the Ruffle top ---> here <----or click the picture below. This leather bag from cocovan will be up on the blog next week with all the details.

Valentines Look with Daniel Wellington
Happy Tuesday! I hope you are all having a good day! Today in upstate New York it has been gray and rainy......ALL DAY. Typical winter weather, atleast the grey part. Today I was dreaming of the tropics or another cruise. Almost one year ago, my hubby and I went on a cruise around the bahamas. Those memories are haunting me and I am ready for another vaca!
The next best thing for me would be dressing for spring. If you have been following me for a while now you know I love florals. OK, thats a mild lie. I would have my whole wardrobe be florals if I could, but then people would refer to me as their grandmas curtains so I will pass on that. :)
Every pretty spring outft needs some matching accessories and one of my favorite watch brands has the perfect watch to go with every outfit. The Classic Durham watch in 36mm has a light brown appearance and goes perfectly with all those pastel and neutral colors being released in the stores and online right now. The strap is 100% leather and you can customize what color you want around the face, which I choose a rose Gold. In honor of Valentines Day, Daniel Wellington just realeased the cutest little gold charm with the word "LOVE" inscribed on it, free with every purchase. I also have a coupon code that will take 15% off all watches. Use Code "SAVVYGIRL". I LOVE my daniel wellington watches and highly reccomend them. I know you will love them too!
P.S. Notice the tags on my pink bag?? I will share why next week, keep an eye out on the blog.
XOXO,
Brianna

Trending with Black Watches by Lord
Happy Monday! Are you recovering from the superbowl? We hosted yesterday and my hubby was smart enough to suggest paper products making clean up easy. Why didnt I think of that? Thankful one of our brains was working!
My new favorite watch that has been on repeat is the "Classic Date" watch in Black by Lord. The strap is genuine leather and measures 18mm. It has a rose gold face (which I love) and has an all over Black appearance. My watch was very comfortable and I didnt feel the need to "break it in" even with the leather strap. I will be the first to admit that I do not wear too much black so I knew I needed a watch for a statement peice that stood out and caught someones eye.
Lord Timepeices offers 24 month warranties with all watches and they offer free shipping worldwide. I LOVE FREE SHIPPING. If you have saw my latest insta stories you know what I do with my saved shipping money. Ill give you a hint...it has to do with food, hehe.
Lord also offers watches for men and women and range in a wide variety. Looking for a way to style a specific watch? Check out their instagram feed for some more inspiration.
I was able to snag a discount code for you, use code BLYNN for 10% off all purchases. As always tag me in your pictures if you purchase one so I can see how amazing it looks on you!

How to Choose a Makeup Brush Set
Brushes Galore! So if you are a makeup guru or a newbie we all have to start at the same place, finding a brush that works best for you! Makeup brushes play such a vital role in apply those beauty products we all spend so much money on. You don’t ever see a painter using their fingers to paint a wall, same reason why you should always use a brush or some type of applicator when apply your makeup.
There are many benefits to using brushes instead of your fingers when applying makeup. You'll get a more of an even coverage using a brush, and a better polished finish. It's also more sanitary to use a brush, especially if you have problematic skin that breaks out easily. I unfortunately fall in that category, so I have to make sure I wash my brushes weekly. Side Tip: There are many wonderful brush cleansers out there, however if you do not feel like shelling out the extra money you can always use baby shampoo. Cheaper and just as safe to cleanse with.
So how to pick a brush: Start with the basics. A foundation brush, blush brush, and eye shadow brush. A foundation brush should be your first purchase. A clean, even complexion will make the rest of your makeup look cleaner and appear brighter. I have been using this oval brush set from Sammy dress and I really like the way they apply. For the price point I think they do a really great job. It takes a few tries to get the hang of holding them, and at times I feel like I should be brushing my teeth with them however they are conviently sized and perfect for on the go. After your foundation choose a blush brush. Blush brushes can be used for multiple different purposes, so if I need to highlight or contour I can always use the same brush. I like to keep them all separate so the makeup does not all mix together.
When buying your set, youtube some makeup tutorials to show how to properly use them. Ever wonder why some sets come with 5 different angled eyeshadow brushes? They actually ALL have a purpose. Plus you can receive some great how-to’s on some easy everyday looks.
I also have listed some additional favorite sets below. I linked all different price points, but keeping them all under $50.

Bomber Jackets and Pencil Skirts
Happy Tuesday! I have not been posting too many blogs lately, nor done much with my blog since the holidays so I have much to share with you! I hope everyones new year is going well and that you have all set some wonderful goals to accomplish this year! Do not be hard on yourself, start little and go from there. Little can be much!
Today I am sharing some fun items from the site Make Me Chic. Lately I have been wearing so much black! I dont know if I am in mourning or if the continual grey weather is affecting me but that has been my trend lately. My eye was drawn to this skirt when I saw it becasue I knew I could wear it many different ways. My oldest daughter is convinced it is a shirt, so she gave me a few good laughs when I tried to convince her otherwise. I found the black crop top from a store called Gabes when visiting my sister in West Virginia. It is a great store that carries name brands for cheaper prices. Pretty sure my definition of an amazing time. Now if only they would serve cupcakes! :)
The bomber jacket is definitely me stepping out of my norm. If you know me, florals are my go to. So for me to pick out an all black outfit with a jacket, one would think I went a little cray cray. The material was really thick and was a comfortable jacket. Im a nothern girl, born and raised in New York so I have to represent. You can shop the looks by clicking any of the pictures as well as items listed below. I also linked some of my favorite leopard heels! Have a great Tuesday!

Ava and Joy
Happy Monday! Mondays in our house are cleaning days aka recovering from the weekend. The house is usually a bomb and I try my best to have my girls help out with chores. My oldest who is five is a great help…most days. Thankfully today was one of those days! Did anyone watch the bachelor? I am not sure how I feel about this season. Nick would not have been my first choice, but hopefully this season picks up. I was working on this blog post while watching the show, a typically Monday night around here!
Ava and Joy is the boutique that provided the clothes pictured above. I loved all the pieces that I chose and the ultimate favorite of mine was the Little Black Dress. The dress was such excellent quality and I can’t wait to add it to my closet. It is one of those dresses that you can keep for years and know it will not go out of style. The other two sweaters are super comfortable. I chose a dark and light color so that they easily could go with multiple outfits. The black sweater had a ripped design; it gives it a unique look and leaves it a little unpolished looking. If you like a picture above, you can click on it and it will take you directly to the site.
The best part is that all the items are less than $30! That is such a steal. If you have any formal event to go to this year, you NEED this black dress. As always tag me in your pictures so I can!

Brianna
Winter Wrap Over Sweater
Happy Hump day! The weather here has been all over the place. Sunny, wind, rain, cold…..it needs to make up its mind. When the sun does come out I keep running to the nearest window and trying to get my vitamin D. It is so rare in the winter, so when it does out you can find me sunbathing in the window.
In other news, I have been on the lookout for a grey wrap over sweater and I finally found one that fits perfect! This sweater from RoseWholesale is only $15! I have very sensitive skin so when wearing sweaters I have to make sure the material is not itchy or irritated. This sweater was comfortable to wear and had a very flattering fit. You can find the sweater in 3 different colors and sizes ranging from small to extra-large. Rosewholesale has been a great site to work with and the shipping came in sooner than what I was expecting. I have enjoyed working with the company and would recommend buying from them. Always make sure to read the reviews, they give great insight to the products. You can find the sweater here below:
