Spring Dresses and White Tees

Happy Tuesday! If you live anywhere in the North east and along the East coast you are probably getting hit with a crazy snow storm. I am currently sitting in my office typing away while a winter wonderland is blowing through the town. It is actually kind of cozy, at least while we still have power. :)

Paperback Boutique is where my two outfits are from and can I just say how much I love, love this floral dress? The fit is perfect and lays just at the perfect length. It has a little choker detail on the dress, adding some more creative details and of course the floral trend is so hot right now. I just happen to be obsessed with florals (if you haven't noticed) so I am elated that they are currently trending. The dress also has a cinched waist which is always flattering on every body type. The white shirt was also complimentary from Paperback. The fit of this top is very flattering. It is fitted by the bust and slightly flares out at the bottom. The sleeves also have a little bit of a belle sleeve shape. Bell sleeves are another trend that is hot right now. I love that the top had a bit of a flow to the shape without losing the complimentary form. Sometimes I forget just how much I love white tops until I add accessories to them. A white top and jeans have endless possibilities to them.  The white top is currently sold out, but there is a white sweater listed on the site with a little bit of a similar shape to it.

The Perfect Spring Shoe

Happy Monday! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and was able to find some time to relax. I spent the weekend in bed unfortunately, fighting off what looks like the flu or a similar virus. My poor babes have been sick most of the week and it looks like I came down with it as well. Good thing is we are all on the mend and ready to take this week head strong!

Todays blog I am sharing one of my new favorite pair of shoes, one that will easily become a staple in my closet this summer and spring. I saw this pair of shoes last year and fell in love and knew I needed to have them in my wardrobe once this winter weather came to an end. You may have seen this style around on different sites, however I can attest to how amazingly comfortable this pair is from Restricted Shoes.

This pair called Weekday from Restricted Shoes is available in 3 different colors. The nude pictured above, black and a whiskey or cognac color. Personally I loved the nude, I felt like it easily went with most outifts. There is a zipper detail in the back making the shoes easier to take on and off rather than having to tie/untie every time. 

The shoes are incredibly comfortable to walk in. I had them on all day earlier this week running errands and meeting friends for dinner and never once thought about my feet. Since the heel is a thicker block heel, I felt that it allowed the shoes to maintain their comfort level for a longer period of time. I was very impressed with the quality of the shoes as well. They are faux leather however the material was thick and sturdy and has a very similar look and feel to leather. Some faux leather shoes I have found to be very cheap appearing and that is NOT the case at all for these heels.

Valentines Day Ruffles

Happy Thursday! One more day until Friyay! Is anyone celebrating Valentines Day early, over the weekend? My hubby is convinced it will not be that busy, but I think it will be. One thing neither one of us like is when the restaurants jack up their prices and change the menu so you can only pick a small selection of items. Why do they have to take advantage of us hard working people!? So needless to say we usually avoid going out the day of.

If you are noticing a common theme on Instagram, ruffles are taking the fashion world by storm. Some people love it, some hate it but I think done the proper way it can add such great detail to any article of clothes. My sister text me last night and told me she would never wear this outfit. Hahah, oh thats what sisters are for!

This sweater from Shein Official is my new favorite top. It has a soft material and the bell sleeves keep their shape. Have you ever bought an article of clothing and the shape falls apart and looks nothing like when you bought it in the store? Ugh hate when that happens. This top is true to fit, however it did fall right at my waist. If you have a longer torso I would suggest going up a size. The fabric is very soft and does not leave an itch feeling. Happy Tuesday! I hope you are all having a good day! Today in upstate New York it has been gray and rainy......ALL DAY. Typical winter weather, atleast the grey part. How to Choose a Makeup Brush Set

Brushes Galore! So if you are a makeup guru or a newbie we all have to start at the same place, finding a brush that works best for you! Makeup brushes play such a vital role in apply those beauty products we all spend so much money on. You don’t ever see a painter using their fingers to paint a wall, same reason why you should always use a brush or some type of applicator when apply your makeup.

There are many benefits to using brushes instead of your fingers when applying makeup. You'll get a more of an even coverage using a brush, and a better polished finish. It's also more sanitary to use a brush, especially if you have problematic skin that breaks out easily. I unfortunately fall in that category, so I have to make sure I wash my brushes weekly. Side Tip: There are many wonderful brush cleansers out there, however if you do not feel like shelling out the extra money you can always use baby shampoo. Cheaper and just as safe to cleanse with.

So how to pick a brush: Start with the basics. A foundation brush, blush brush, and eye shadow brush. A foundation brush should be your first purchase. A clean, even complexion will make the rest of your makeup look cleaner and appear brighter. I have been using this oval brush set from Sammy dress and I really like the way they apply. For the price point I think they do a really great job. It takes a few tries to get the hang of holding them, and at times I feel like I should be brushing my teeth with them however they are conviently sized and perfect for on the go. After your foundation choose a blush brush. Blush brushes can be used for multiple different purposes, so if I need to highlight or contour I can always use the same brush. I like to keep them all separate so the makeup does not all mix together.

When buying your set, youtube some makeup tutorials to show how to properly use them. Ever wonder why some sets come with 5 different angled eyeshadow brushes? They actually ALL have a purpose. Plus you can receive some great how-to’s on some easy everyday looks.

Happy Tuesday! I have not been posting too many blogs lately, nor done much with my blog since the holidays so I have much to share with you! I hope everyones new year is going well and that you have all set some wonderful goals to accomplish this year! Do not be hard on yourself, start little and go from there. Little can be much!

Today I am sharing some fun items from the site Make Me Chic. Lately I have been wearing so much black! I dont know if I am in mourning or if the continual grey weather is affecting me but that has been my trend lately. My eye was drawn to this skirt when I saw it becasue I knew I could wear it many different ways. My oldest daughter is convinced it is a shirt, so she gave me a few good laughs when I tried to convince her otherwise. I found the black crop top from a store called Gabes when visiting my sister in West Virginia. It is a great store that carries name brands for cheaper prices. Pretty sure my definition of an amazing time. Now if only they would serve cupcakes! :)

The bomber jacket is definitely me stepping out of my norm. If you know me, florals are my go to. So for me to pick out an all black outfit with a jacket, one would think I went a little cray cray. The material was really thick and was a comfortable jacket. Im a nothern girl, born and raised in New York so I have to represent. Happy Monday! Mondays in our house are cleaning days aka recovering from the weekend. The house is usually a bomb and I try my best to have my girls help out with chores. My oldest who is five is a great help…most days. Thankfully today was one of those days! Did anyone watch the bachelor? I am not sure how I feel about this season. Nick would not have been my first choice, but hopefully this season picks up. I was working on this blog post while watching the show, a typically Monday night around here!

Shein Red Holiday Dress

I can’t say enough good things about this dress! First off my inner 90’s kid is screaming that I can wear sequins again as an adult. I obsoletely loved the holiday look this dress has to offer. Who says sexy has to consist of showing skin? This sleek and modest look just blew sexy out of the water while keeping it classy. The inside of this dress was soft and comfortable and the sequins did not make it uncomfortable at all.

This dress zips up in the back and and has such a flattering figure to it. As soon as I put it on my oldest daughter was squealing asking when she could wear it. Today’s blog post is about the “slouchy”. The slouchy is The Mint Julep Boutiques amazing sweatshirt. The slouchy is a cute and trendy long sleeve shirt that can be worn in multiple different ways. On top of that it is so incredibly comfortable. When I received the package in the mail I could not wait to wear them! The fabric was cotton and had a perfect fit as soon as I put it on. 

The part that I love most about the slouchy is how versatile it is. The wine colored slouchy was perfect for fall photos so I could not wait to dress it up with a hat and heels and take pictures in the leaves. I know it can be really hard to find fashion trends that are comfortable and trending, but that is the best part about this shirt. There are so many ways to style it!

Being a mom of two little girls I am on the go a lot and I am also home a lot. Being comfortable in what I am wearing is very important to me. I wanted to add a real life picture amongst the professional ones to keep things honest and real. Life is not always about dressing up and attending fancy events.  It is about cuddling on the couch and drying crying eyes while drinking all the coffee I can get. I may or may not have worn this pink slouchy all day and all night. It was the perfect comfy top for a tiresome day.

THML Fall LookBook

Big comfy sweaters are my favorite fall trend. The saying “the higher the hair the closer to heaven”, I feel can be relatable when you put on your oversized snugly shirt for the day. Sweaters are just so inviting and if it is a gloomy day, forget about it I am making my way to the couch for a quick nap.

 This sweater is from THML Clothing Company. I am the least bit a fan of turtlenecks because of the constraint on your neck but I love the warmth they provide. This sweater featured below had the perfect compromise to my problem. The neckline almost appears to be a scarf and the button details add the cutest touch.

Stripes are always a flattering look and I love that these stripes are neutral. I have been on a big neutral kick lately and this sweater had me swooning as soon as I saw it. Some sweaters can leave an itchy irritated feeling, especially if there is material around your neck. This sweaters fabric was light enough that the material did not cling to your body but still added enough warmth without any irritation.

This drape front jacket is so cozy and fun to wear. The oversized grey look to me just appears to have a London-esque look . I have no idea why but it does. The plaid long sleeves could not have added a more fall appearance even if I tried. Typically I am not a fan of plaid, however this had just enough pop of design yet still subtle enough to be able to be paired with multiple outfits.

I recently went to a birthday celebration that was outside and it was COLD. Most people attending were wearing winter coats and all I brought was a thick sweater and this jacket. Needless to say I was not the least bit cold. I was pleasantly surprised at how warm I stayed in the jacket. The jacket itself was not heavy but provided the warmth and comfort that I needed.

Irresistible Me Hair Pt. 2

What better proof of showing what you love than a before and after? The first three pictures listed below are my hair naturally. I have fine, thin hair that requires a lot of hairspray to appear voluminous. Like most women I love for my hair to have that look of sheer volume but that is just not realistic when the numbers on my head are limited. That is why I love irresistible me hair extensions so much! They give my hair the volume that I need without the commitment. I am a big fab if clip ins because of how easy they are. It only takes 2 minutes and you are done. Personally I believe they are less damaging then professional extensions because you are not putting any chemicals or clamps in your hair. Lace up and Chokers

Happy Friday! Is anyone else as excited as me that it is the weekend? The weather here in New York is pretty crummy with rain and grey skies. Perfect day for watching movies and catching g up on household chores I have been putting off.

Today we are talking about lace up and chokers! To be totally honest when I first saw this shirt I did not like it at all! I did not think the fit would look good on me and collars are not usually my thing. After looking at it again a few times I figured I would give it a try because I really am loving the lace up trend right now.

When I paired this outfit together I actually fell in love with it! The shirt is so soft and comfortable. It does not have a stiff feel to it, unlike some other collared shirts. I love how the criss cross detail is large on the shirt making it more of a bold statement. I am all for bold statements. I tend to shy away from them most of the time, but I always love when I see other people and bloggers making bold moves. I think I should take some lessons from them sometime!

ILY Blanket scarf

Lets talk accessories! ILY Mix sent me a pair of sunglasses and blanket scarf to style and I really love both of them! Whenever shipments come to me from other companies I have never ordered before I am always a little hesitant of the quality. I was pleasantly pleased with both items that I received. The best part? The glasses and scarf were both under $25!

This blanket scarf is so incredibly comfortable! Some scarfs leave an itchy or irritated feel to our skin, however this scarf is made up of a very soft cotton and i could easily sleep in it! It is light enough to wear all day and can be worn as a shawl as well.

Oliver Bilou

One of the best things about Instagram is coming across new and different accounts. I stumbled upon Oliver Bilou, a handbag website for the sophisticated lady. They feature three different bags and I instantly feel in love with all of them! My bag of choice was the deep blue vegan leather bag called, Amy. Amy is the epitome of a sophisticated handbag with a trendy twist. I love that the bag features tassels on the side. It has just enough fringe detail to make the bag pop. 

Being a busy mom, bags are very important in my day to day routine. I need something that can carry all of my essentials while still leaving room for diapers and wipes for my little one. I am past the stage of diaper bags but still have to carry a few things for my little ones, and this size bag is perfect for just that. It is the perfect size and proportion for any outfit. Not too big and not to small. 

As much as these bags are beautiful what the company stands for serve’s even a better purpose. A portion of the proceeds collected from these bags goes to charities that support children in developing countries. How amazing is that?! We lived in such a blessed country and I love that this company realizes that and is willing to share the love and wealth. Happy Thursday! One more day until the weekend! I came back home early Wednesday morning (2:30am kind of early) from a week away visiting my family. I loved being able to see my sister and her tribe but it is always so good to come back home. In the words of Dorothy, "there is no place like home!"

Lets talk watches! Typically I am a fan of big, bold watches. I wear them usually for the arm candy party and very rarely do I ever wear a watch for the time. Does that sound crazy? Wear a watch for the sole purpose of being just an accessory? I always have my phone on me so I never need to look anywhere else for the time. 

I would say I do about 60% of my blogging work on my phone. I have all my apps on there with my emails, which results in my constantly being on my phone. This is something that is necessary for me to do my work however I hate how much I have to be glued to that tiny device. With two little girls watching my every move and constantly looking up to me, I do not want them to always remember mommy being on her phone. Do you feel that way as well? If using a watch can take away one less distraction from me being on my phone, Ill take it!

Make Me Chic

I love fall dresses! I am naturally drawn to cooler colors, so when I see the olive and caramel  and deep reds I cannot help but swoon over them. Maybe it is the time of year that these colors are associated. Regardless, I love everything and anything associated with fall. Except for haunted houses. I cannot do those. They are the worst! If you want to see me bawl like a baby, drag me out to one of those on a Friday night.

Bunny trailing....When I found this dress on the Make Me Chic  website I fell in love right away. I am a sucker for florals, if you have been following me for some time now you know that. I love anything floral so this dress jumped off the page as soon as I saw it!

The back detailing was probably my favorite part of the dress. I liked that it had a different flair to it, compared to some other dresses I have seen.

Since the dress has a heavier design I made sure to keep the shoe basic. Another great shoe option would be a strappy red heel. Something that has a little pop of color, without there being too much shoe. Our eyes naturally draw down so you want to keep the shoes flowing with the dress.
