Handtied Hair Extensions

I am so excited to finally share this blog post that I have been working on for quite some time. February 14th, I saw Tiffany Stern at Alex and Co Salon and she put in

Harlow Hair hand tied extensions. If you have been following me since February,

you probably have heard me RAVE about how much these extensions have

transformed not just my hair but also my confidence.

2 years ago, I gave birth to my son. About 4 months post-partum my hair started to

fall out drastically. Fast forward a year later and I was experiencing some major

health issues which resulted in even more hair loss. I invested in some temporary hair

extensions that required me to take them on and off every day. It became such a hassle and only

allowed me to wear my hair down in one style. I knew I wanted something not only permanent,

but something that allowed me to be creative with my hair and ultimately feel like my own.

Hand Tied Extensions has transformed my hair in so many ways! There was a slight time frame

when my extensions were removed during quarantine, and I counted down the days until they

were placed back in. Hand tied extensions have given me so much confidence in an area that I

was extremely self-conscious. My ponytail had become thinner than my daughter’s hair and no

matter how many times I tried to style my hair, it continued to look thin and lifeless.

A little bit about hand tied extensions:

Hand-tied weft hair extensions require no tape, glue or heat. These are a collection of pieces that

have been pre-cut and sewn to create small weft-size pieces. Hand-tied wefts can be used to add

fullness and length and blend seamlessly to your own natural hair and texture.

Commonly asked Questions:

Q: How much do they cost?

A: The price varies. There are many factors to determine the total cost. The variables include: How much hair you need to buy, if the color needs to be adjusted to your own, what length hair you are

purchasing, is the hair you are purchasing dark or light. Very similar to when you go to get your

hair colored, what your friend may have paid for her hair can be drastically different than what

you pay.

Q: How often do you have to get the wefts moved up?

A: Recommended time frame is 6-8 weeks.

Q: Do they hurt?

A: Initially the first 24 hours the extensions are tight, however after that the hair starts to loosen as it grows.

Q: Do I have to take care of them differently than my own hair?

A: No, treat them as you would your own hair, however I would recommend using extra

conditoner or a moisture mask to keep the extensions from becoming too dry.

Q:What makes Hand Tied Extensions stand out among the rest?

A: The seamless blend.

Q: Can I blow dry them?

A: Yes! You can curl, blow dry, flat iron or air dry your extensions.

Handtied Extensions are an investment. However, they are worth every penny and

then some. The confidence I have gained from feeling like my hair is “normal” is not something

I can put a price tag on. I don’t know if my hair will ever grow back the way it used to, but I feel

so comfortable with how my hair looks ands feels now. If you are looking for some hair inspiration,
